Richards, Peter

Peter began his musical training early, as a choirboy at Westminster Abbey. He joined the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain playing the horn at the age of 15, and went on to study at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester under Ifor James. Since then he has led a varied career, playing regularly with numerous ensembles and orchestras in the North West of England and beyond.

His association with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe goes back 26 years and includes tours of Japan and the U.S.A. He has also made regular appearances with the Wind Soloists of the COE and played the 4th solo horn part in Schumann’s Koncertstück with the orchestra in Berlin and Ferrara. Peter also enjoys composing and arranging, teaching and playing jazz and classical piano. He currently resides in Cheshire with his wife and four lively children.
