Bob Shaw

Bob started playing the horn at the age of 13. Three years later he joined the band of H M Irish Guards and studied horn at the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall with Professor Alfred Cursue.

In 1997 he left the Guards and became a freelance horn player, which has included playing in all the major concerts halls in Britain and recording for the Naxos record label. He has also had the pleasure of working with the National Festival Orchestra, the Uralsk Philharmonic Orchestra of Kazakhstan and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as with artists such as Tom Jones, Dame Vera Lynn, Leo Sayer and Jane MacDonald to name a few.
